NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2020


Medical graduates who wish to pursue their postgraduate courses are required to fulfil NEET PG 2020 eligibility criteria. National Board of Education (NBE) will release its information brochure in the first week of November and all the details like eligibility criteria, important dates, guidelines, marking scheme, exam pattern etc.will be explained in it. The eligibility criteria for NEET PG includes all important criterias that candidates should fulfil, like ade, qualification, nationality, domicile, etc.


  • FOR NEET 2020, candidates must qualify 12th class examination with Chemistry, Biology, Physics and English subjects.

  • For General category candidates, it is mandatory to score 50% marks in 12th grade.

  • SC/ST/OBC category candidates must score 40% marks to become eligible for NEET 2020.

  • The lower age limit for candidates aspiring for NEET 2020 should be 17 years as on December 31 of the admission year, i.e., 2020. For example, candidates appearing for NEET 2020 and are 16 years of age are eligible as he/she will complete 17 years by December 31, 2020. The admitted year is 2020.

    • NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2020 - AIQ seats



  • Any student who has qualified the NEET-UG exam with a minimum cutoff mark specified by the exam authority are eligible to participate in the All-India Quota counselling of NEET-UG.

  • These students are also eligible to participate in state-level NEET-UG counselling.
  • Under AIQ, 15% of seats in MBBS course are reserved in various colleges across the country. The rest of the seats are filled under state quota.




    • NEET UG Result 2020



  • The Result of NEET UG exam 2020 will be declared by the competent authority probably in the month of January 2020. Candidate can obtain the result by accessing the official portal using their roll number/registration number etc.
  • Thereafter, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained and Rank Card will be issued accordingly. The Rank Card is an important document which has candidate’s score and All India Rank.

    • NEET UG 2020 Counselling



  • On the basis of NEET UG 2020 result, the eligible candidates can participate in the counselling process. Directorate General of Health Science (DGHS) and Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will facilitate the process for 50% All India Quota seats. For the remaining 50% seats, counselling will be done by State authorities. Final admission will be based on NEET UG score, choice-filled and number of seats available.
  • The candidates must keep ready all the relevant documents, as the competent authority will verify all the original documents during the counselling process. If anyone failed to produce relevant documents then his/her candidature shall liable to be cancelled. Admission will be allotted to the students purely on the basis of merit.
